If you or your child have interest in showing, then we would love to welcome you to the horse

show world! It is an incredible experience for any age rider and is somewhat comparable to

playing the “games” of a sport such as basketball or baseball. Showing puts a rider’s skills to the

test, but the showing experience is also so much more.

There are 2 levels of showing that we offer as part of our program – Academy and Show Riders.

Academy is the entry level of showing in our industry where Academy (lesson) horses are

shown. The show riding circuit involve the higher levels of showing where show horses are

shown by riders who own or lease them and the horses are in regular professional training.

Riders who compete in these levels are known as Show Riders.

Academy Shows provide the necessary experience and confidence for competing. Also, as an

Academy rider, you do are not required to own your own horse to show. Riders show

Wingedspur’s school horses and wear Academy show attire. An Academy rider will show in

either Leadline, Walk/Trot (open to all ages, varies by experience), or Walk/Trot/Canter (open to

all ages but typically not starting place for riders new to showing). We will select your classes

for you and help you create and meet goals for showing Academy.

For the 2025 season, we will be charging a fixed rate of $425.00 per academy rider at the shows

listed above. This includes entry fees, trucking, stabling for the duration of the show, access to

dressing and hospitality rooms, full preparation of horse and tack, and coaching and instruction

at the show. You will receive a complementary lesson at the first show you attend in the show

series.

If you sign up for all 6 shows, you will receive a discounted rate of $400.00 per show!

**Deerfield Fair is the most difficult show option in the series. With larger crowds and many

distractions, experience in the show ring is necessary. If you are interested in showing the in

Academy Program at the fair, you must ride in at least one show prior. Tammy and the

instructors reserve the right to approve/deny entry to the Deerfield Fair Horse Show to ensure

safety of the horse and rider. **
